Abstract

Aim: In this study, environmentally friendly synthesis of gold nanoparticles was carried out by using the extract obtained from the flowers of the lavender (Lavandula officinalis) plant.
Materials and Methods: In the metal solution used in the study, gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) were obtained. by precipitation with the help of high-speed centrifugation as a result of the reduction of the ionized Au+3 form by phytochemicals. Zeta potential, X-ray diffractometry, UVVis spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Fourier transform scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM) and Electron for elucidation of the characterization and structure of (LO-AuNPs) synthesized with Lavandula officinalis extract dispersed. X-ray (EDX) device data was used.
Results: Antimicrobial effect of LO-AuNPs synthesized of biological origin on pathogenic strains, minimum inhibitory concentration (MIK) on gram positive bacteria (S. aureus and B. subtilis), gram negative bacteria (E coli and P aeruginosa) and Candida albicans for fungal strain determined with. The effective concentrations on C. albicans were determined as 0.012, 0.625, 0.5, 0.125 and 0.50 μg/ mL, respectively.
Conclusion: It was concluded that the synthesis obtained in the study can be used as an effective drug for these pathogens in the future.
